At Creekside Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in The Woodlands, TX, we understand how missing teeth can affect your smile, confidence, and overall oral health. Our skilled dentists, Dr. Christopher Anton and Dr. Angela Anton, provide high-quality dental bridges to restore your smile’s appearance and function. Dental bridges are custom-made prosthetics designed to “bridge” the gap created by one or more missing teeth, helping you speak and eat with comfort while maintaining your facial structure and preventing remaining teeth from shifting.

Dental Bridge The Woodlands, TX

Why Might You Need A Dental Bridge?

Missing teeth can cause more problems than just an incomplete smile. When you lose a tooth, the surrounding teeth may begin to shift into the empty space over time. This shifting can lead to bite problems, difficulty chewing food, speech issues, and even changes in your facial appearance as your cheeks begin to look sunken. Additionally, the gap left by missing teeth can make your remaining teeth more vulnerable to decay and gum disease as food particles can become trapped more easily.

A dental bridge helps solve these problems by filling the gap with a natural-looking replacement tooth. Many patients find that bridges not only improve their ability to eat and speak comfortably but also restore their confidence to smile fully again.

What To Expect

When you visit our comfortable office in The Woodlands for a dental bridge consultation, our friendly team will make you feel right at home. Dr. Christopher Anton or Dr. Angela Anton will examine your teeth and discuss your goals and concerns. We use advanced digital imaging to assess your oral health and determine the best approach for your dental bridge.

The process typically requires at least two visits to our office. During these appointments, we prioritize your comfort while delivering exceptional results. Our patients appreciate our gentle approach and the natural-looking, durable bridges we create to restore their smiles.

Types Of Bridges

At Creekside Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer several types of dental bridges to meet your specific needs:

  • Traditional Bridges: The most common type, consisting of one or more artificial teeth (pontics) held in place by dental crowns cemented to the adjacent natural teeth. These are ideal when you have healthy teeth on both sides of the gap.
  • Cantilever Bridges: Used when there are healthy teeth on only one side of the gap. Though less common, these can be effective in certain situations, particularly toward the front of the mouth.
  • Maryland Bridges: Also called resin-bonded bridges, these consist of artificial teeth supported by a metal or porcelain framework bonded to the backs of the adjacent teeth. These require less preparation of the neighboring teeth and are often used for front teeth replacements.
  • Implant-Supported Bridges: The most stable and durable option, these bridges are supported by dental implants surgically placed in your jawbone rather than relying on natural teeth for support.

The Dental Bridge Process

When you choose Creekside Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for your dental bridge, you can expect a comfortable, streamlined process.

First, we prepare the adjacent teeth (abutment teeth) by carefully reshaping them to make room for the crowns that will support your bridge. We take precise digital impressions of your teeth, which are used to create your custom bridge in a professional dental laboratory.

While your permanent bridge is being crafted, we’ll place a temporary bridge to protect your exposed teeth and gums. This also helps you maintain your appearance and ability to eat and speak normally during this interim period.

When your custom bridge is ready (typically in about two weeks), you’ll return for your second appointment. We’ll remove the temporary bridge, check the fit and appearance of your new permanent bridge, make any necessary adjustments, and then securely cement it in place. Dr. Christopher Anton and Dr. Angela Anton take care to ensure your bite feels comfortable and your new teeth look completely natural.
