Missing teeth change how you eat and smile, and can even change how you feel about yourself. If you have been missing teeth for a while, you might have noticed other changes, too. Your remaining teeth are shifting, your jawbone is shrinking, and your face is looking a little different.

Welcome to Creekside Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, your trusted dental implant provider in The Woodlands, TX. At our dental practice, Dr. Christopher Anton and Dr. Angela Anton help patients in The Woodlands restore their smiles. And they do it with dental implants, the closest thing to growing a new tooth.

Dental Implants in The Woodlands, TX

What Exactly Is a Dental Implant?

Think of a dental implant as an artificial tooth root. It’s a small titanium post that we surgically place into your jawbone where your old tooth root used to be. Over a few months, your bone grows around the post and fuses with it. That process is called osseointegration.

Once the implant is secure, we attach a custom-made crown on top. The crown looks, feels, and functions like your natural tooth. The result is a replacement tooth that you will forget is even there.

Why Choose Implants Over Other Options?

You have options for replacing missing teeth, including bridges, dentures, and implants. Here is why implants are considered the gold standard:

  • They preserve your jawbone. When you lose a tooth, your jawbone starts to shrink because it is no longer being stimulated. Bridges and dentures do nothing to stop this. Implants actually stimulate the bone, keeping it healthy.
  • They leave your other teeth alone. A traditional bridge requires grinding down the healthy teeth on either side of the gap. Implants stand on their own. Your natural teeth stay exactly as they are.
  • They are permanent. Dentures can slip, click, and float around. Implants are fixed in place. You eat what you want, smile without worry, and live your life.
  • They last. With proper care, dental implants can last decades. Bridges and dentures typically need replacement every 5 to 10 years.

Your Implant Options at Creekside Park

Single Tooth Implant

Missing one tooth? A single implant with a custom crown is the most natural solution available.

We place one titanium post where your tooth root used to be. After healing, we attach a crown that matches the color, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth. No one will know it is not your natural tooth.

The best part is we don’t have to touch your healthy neighboring teeth. That is not true with a bridge.

Multiple Tooth Implants

Missing several teeth in a row or in different spots around your mouth? We have options.

Sometimes we place an implant for each missing tooth. Other times, we use fewer implants to support a bridge that spans the gap. Dr. Chris or Dr. Angela will examine your mouth and recommend the approach that makes the most sense for you.

Either way, you get stable, secure teeth that let you chew normally again.

All-on-4: A Full Arch on Just Four Implants

If you have lost most or all of your teeth, this option can change your life.

Traditional implant methods for a full arch of teeth require 6 to 8 implants per jaw. All-on-4 uses just four. Two go in front of your jaw, and two go in the back, angled to take advantage of the densest bone. This option means no bone grafting, even if you have been told in the past that you don’t have enough bone for implants.

In many cases, you can walk out of our office the same day with a temporary set of teeth. After your implants heal, we replace the temporary teeth with a permanent, custom-made set.

The Implant Process: What to Expect

We’ve refined our dental implant process to ensure the best results for our patients in The Woodlands. Getting dental implants takes a few appointments over several months. Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Your Worry-free Consultation

Dr. Chris or Dr. Angela will examine your mouth, take X-rays or 3D scans, and listen to your goals. They will tell you if implants are right for you and explain exactly what your treatment will look like.

Step 2: Prep Work

Some patients need a little prep work before implants can go in. Maybe a tooth needs to be extracted, or you need a bone graft to build up your jawbone. Maybe you have gum disease that needs to be treated first. We will take care of all that before we move forward.

Step 3: Implant Placement

We numb the area and gently place the titanium posts into your jawbone. The placement surgery takes about an hour. Most patients tell us it was easier than they expected.

Step 4: Healing

Over the next 3 to 6 months, your implants fuse with your jawbone. During this time, you go about your normal life. If you are getting All-on-4, you will have temporary teeth throughout the process.

Step 5: Abutment Placement

Once healing is complete, we attach small connector pieces called abutments to your implants. These hold your new teeth comfortably in place.

Step 6: Your New Smile

We attach your custom-made crowns, bridge, or full arch of teeth. You’ll see a complete smile when you leave our office. You might not even remember which tooth was missing!

The Dr. Chris and Dr. Angela Difference

Not all dentists approach implants the same way.

Dr. Chris and Dr. Angela are both Fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry. The distinction requires hundreds of hours of continuing education beyond dental school. They are also both Board Directors and Key Opinion Leaders for the American Academy of Clear Aligners, where they help teach other dentists.

They are also a husband-and-wife team who genuinely care about their patients. They take the time to listen and explain things in plain English. They build treatment plans that fit your needs, your budget, and your life.

And when you need specialized care beyond what they offer in-office? They collaborate with a carefully selected group of trusted specialists to make sure you get the best possible outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting dental implants hurt?

The procedure is done with anesthesia, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the placement. Most patients report only mild discomfort afterward. Nothing that over-the-counter pain relievers can’t handle.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care and regular dental checkups, dental implants can last decades. Many last a lifetime. The crown on top may eventually need replacement after 10 to 15 years of normal wear.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Most healthy adults are candidates. The most important factor is having enough jawbone to support the implant. If you don’t, we may recommend a bone graft. Dr. Chris or Dr. Angela will evaluate your situation during your consultation.

Does insurance cover dental implants?

Coverage varies by plan. Some insurance plans cover a portion of implant treatment. Our team will verify your benefits and explain your out-of-pocket costs before any treatment begins. We also offer financing options to make implants more affordable.

How do I care for my dental implants?

Brush them, floss them, and see us for regular checkups. That’s all you need. Implants don’t require special products or complicated routines to keep them healthy.
