Missing teeth change how you eat and smile, and can even change how you feel about yourself. If you have been missing teeth for a while, you might have noticed other changes, too. Your remaining teeth are shifting, your jawbone is shrinking, and your face is looking a little different.
At Creekside Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Christopher Anton and Dr. Angela Anton help patients restore missing teeth with beautifully crafted implant restorations. Working closely with trusted oral surgeons and specialists in The Woodlands area, they guide patients through the restorative phase of treatment to create smiles that look natural, feel comfortable, and function beautifully.

What Exactly Is a Dental Implant?
Think of a dental implant as an artificial tooth root. A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone by an oral surgeon or implant specialist. Once healing and integration with the bone are complete, Dr. Chris and Dr. Angela restore the implant with a custom abutment and crown designed to look and function like a natural tooth. Over a few months, your bone grows around the post and fuses with it. That process is called osseointegration.
Once the implant is secure, we attach a custom-made crown on top. The crown looks, feels, and functions like your natural tooth. The result is a replacement tooth that you will forget is even there.
Why Choose Implants Over Other Options?
You have options for replacing missing teeth, including bridges, dentures, and implants. Here is why implants are considered the gold standard:
- They preserve your jawbone. When you lose a tooth, your jawbone starts to shrink because it is no longer being stimulated. Bridges and dentures do nothing to stop this. Implants actually stimulate the bone, keeping it healthy.
- They leave your other teeth alone. A traditional bridge requires grinding down the healthy teeth on either side of the gap. Implants stand on their own. Your natural teeth stay exactly as they are.
- They are permanent. Dentures can slip, click, and float around. Implants are fixed in place. You eat what you want, smile without worry, and live your life.
- They last. With proper care, dental implants can last decades. Bridges and dentures typically need replacement every 5 to 10 years.
Your Implant Options at Creekside Park
Single Tooth Implant
Missing one tooth? A single implant with a custom crown is the most natural solution available.
After the implant is placed and healed by a trusted specialist, we restore it with a custom-crafted dental crown designed to blend naturally with your smile. After healing, we attach a crown that matches the color, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth. No one will know it is not your natural tooth.
The best part is we don’t have to touch your healthy neighboring teeth. That is not true with a bridge.
Multiple Tooth Implants
Missing several teeth in a row or in different spots around your mouth? We have options.
Depending on your needs, implant restorations may support individual crowns or custom bridges designed to replace multiple missing teeth securely and comfortably. Other times, fewer implants are used to support a bridge that spans the gap. Dr. Chris or Dr. Angela will examine your mouth and recommend the approach that makes the most sense for you.
Either way, you get stable, secure teeth that let you chew normally again.
Implant-Supported Dentures & Full Arch Restoration
For patients missing most or all of their teeth, implant-supported dentures and full-arch restorations can provide dramatically improved comfort, stability, and chewing ability compared to traditional dentures.
We work closely with experienced oral surgeons who place the implants, while Dr. Chris and Dr. Angela design and fabricate the custom full-arch restoration that attaches to them. Your final smile is crafted to look natural, function comfortably, and fit your facial aesthetics.
The Implant Process: What to Expect
We’ve refined our dental implant process to ensure the best results for our patients in The Woodlands. Getting dental implants takes a few appointments over several months. Here’s how it works.
Step 1: Your Worry-free Consultation
Dr. Chris or Dr. Angela will examine your mouth, take X-rays or 3D scans, and listen to your goals. They will tell you if implants are right for you and explain exactly what your treatment will look like. If implant surgery is needed, we coordinate care with trusted local specialists.
Step 2: Surgical Phase With A Specialist
If extractions, bone grafting, sinus lifts, or implant placement are needed, we will refer you to one of our carefully selected oral surgery partners. We work closely with these specialists throughout the process to ensure seamless care and ideal restorative outcomes.
Step 4: Healing & Integration
Over the next 3 to 6 months after surgery, your implants fuse with your jawbone. During this time, you go about your normal life.
Step 5: Impressions & Final Placement
Once the implants have healed, our team takes detailed impressions and digital scans to begin designing your custom restoration. Depending on your needs, this may include an implant crown, bridge, or implant-supported denture.
Step 6: Final Seating
Your final restoration is fabricated by a trusted dental laboratory and typically returned in approximately 2½ weeks. Once ready, Dr. Chris or Dr. Angela will carefully seat the abutment and final restoration, making sure your bite, comfort, appearance, and function are exactly right.
The Dr. Chris and Dr. Angela Difference
Not all dentists approach implants the same way.
Dr. Chris and Dr. Angela are both Fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry. The distinction requires hundreds of hours of continuing education beyond dental school. They are also both Board Directors and Key Opinion Leaders for the American Academy of Clear Aligners, where they help teach other dentists.
They are also a husband-and-wife team who genuinely care about their patients. They take the time to listen and explain things in plain English. They build treatment plans that fit your needs, your budget, and your life.
And when you need specialized care beyond what they offer in-office? They collaborate with a carefully selected group of trusted specialists to make sure you get the best possible outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does getting dental implants hurt?
The implant placement procedure is performed by a trusted oral surgeon or specialist using local anesthesia and sedation options when appropriate.
How long do dental implants last?
With proper care and regular dental checkups, dental implants can last decades. Many last a lifetime. The crown on top may eventually need replacement after 10 to 15 years of normal wear.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Most healthy adults are candidates. The most important factor is having enough jawbone to support the implant. If advanced surgical procedures are needed, we coordinate care with experienced specialists.
Does insurance cover dental implants?
Coverage varies by plan. Some insurance plans cover a portion of implant treatment. Our team will verify your benefits and explain your out-of-pocket costs before any treatment begins. We also offer financing options to make implants more affordable.
How do I care for my dental implants?
Brush them, floss them, and see us for regular checkups. That’s all you need. Implants don’t require special products or complicated routines to keep them healthy.
